
Violinist Stephanie Song enjoys a musical career as a performer and dedicated teacher. Stephanie comes to El Paso from Ann Arbor, Michigan. Stephanie completed a Bachelor of Music from the University of Michigan as a student of Stephen Shipps and Aaron Berofsky and a Master of Music from Rice University as a scholarship student of violin soloist Cho-Liang Lin.
Originally from Miami, Florida, Stephanie was born into a family of professional violinists. While studying under the tutelage of her parents, Stephanie was named an Emerson Scholar, an award given to one Florida musician to attend the Interlochen Arts Academy on full scholarship. Stephanie’s other summer musical experiences include studies at the Aspen Music Festival and School and the Meadowount School of Music. As an enthusiastic and devoted instructor, Stephanie has been of the faculty of the Ann Arbor School for the Performing Arts and the Rice University Preparatory Program. Stephanie’s teaching experiences have given her opportunities to work with violinists at all age levels in a wide variety of settings. Stephanie has been a clinician, group class instructor, orchestra sectional coach, all in addition to maintaining a private studio. Stephanie’s students have achieved high marks at competitions and have qualified for the Texas All-Region orchestras.
As a performer, Stephanie has been a member of many orchestral and chamber ensembles. Stephanie has performed with the Dearborn Symphony Orchestra (MI) as Associate Concertmaster and performances with the Ann Arbor, Lansing, Jackson, Plymouth and Flint Symphony Orchestras of Michigan. Most recently, Stephanie performs as a founding member of the Ann Arbor Camerata, a professional chamber ensemble based in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
