EPSYOs Staff Conductor & Tocando Lead String Teaching Artist

The El Paso Symphony Orchestra Association seeks a talented performer and educator to be involved with its two educational programs, Tocando and the El Paso Symphony Youth Orchestras.

Interested candidates will be active and involved with two programs of the EPSO that serve our city’s youth through music.  The Tocando Lead String Teaching Artist will teach string classes at Hart Elementary Monday through Thursday from 3:15-6:00pm. And will assist the Program Director in administering and coordinating programming.  As a staff conductor with the EPSYOs, the candidate will lead the El Paso Youth String Philharmonic (EPYSP) and oversee the musical development of the young musicians enrolled in the EPSYOs program.  The EPYSP is a strings-only ensemble designed for beginning string players with limited orchestral experience (typically in elementary and middle school).   The EPYSP rehearses for 2 hours on a weekly basis (currently scheduled for Saturdays from 1:00pm to 3:00pm) and performs between 4-5 concerts per year.
