The El Paso Youth String Philharmonic (EPYSP) is a strings-only ensemble for beginning players with limited orchestral experience (typically elementary and middle school students). Rehearsals are held on Saturdays from 1:00 - 3:00PM. Tuition is $325.
Audition Requirements
Your audition will take about five minutes, and will have three major components:
- Two (2) scales (two octaves preferred)
- Prepared selection from a solo piece or etude (All Region excerpts are acceptable)
- Short, rhythmic sight-reading excerpt (music will be provided in your audition)
Your solo piece selection should reflect your current playing ability, including shifting into higher positions and playing in different keys.
